DEAD MAN
a film by Jim Jarmusch, music by Neil Young
Official reissue of the highly sought-after soundtrack via the Neil Young Archive project, on audiophile vinyl cut by Chris Bellman at Bernie Grundman Mastering. Includes printed inner sleeves featuring still photos from the movie.
An unexpected outing from Neil Young, essentially sparse arrangements of guitar droning and feedback...ambience galore...but it totally works - both in the movie and on your turntable. Reminiscent of a Ry Cooder score. Accompanied by sound-clips from the motion picture, including poetry by "William Blake" a.k.a Johnny Depp, as well as some campfire creepiness from Iggy Pop and Billy Bob Thornton.
