Maybe Glenn will finally get cast as Wolvie in the next X-Men flick, now that this long-awaited fan fantasy of an entire album of Danzig covering Elvis Presley songs has been realized.  Newbies in search of a 21st century update of The King's greatest hits should look elsewhere.  Fiends expecting punk renditions like the Misfits' "Blue Christmas" or pick squeal versions like the band Danzig's "Trouble" will be disappointed.  Most of the songs do not "rock," and even when they do, it's more of an early rockabilly style at a mid-tempo pace.  This is a mostly somber and stripped-down affair that still has soul.  Some blame Glenn's legendary cheapness for the sparse arrangements, but it works here - it haunts the sultry "Fever" and gives "Always On My Mind" that other kind of doom heaviness.  If you're already sitting around at a cabin in the middle of nowhere, drinking whiskey while you wait out the apocalypse, this might be the soundtrack for you.
