CHINESE TELEPHONES
CHINESE TELEPHONES LP
The self-titled debut by Chinese Telephones. Sweaty and sincere punk for a Broadways/Cometbus crowd. Produced by Jeff Burke and Mark Ryan (both from MARKED MEN), with Burke adding a songwriting credit and a bunch of backing vocals...so, the MM crowd will wanna jump in this too.
A "goddamn modern classic." Includes 12 heartfelt punk tunes and a download card so you can listen to the whole dozen on your soulless computer.
* * * Within a year of releasing this record, Chinese Telephones broke up. Justin Telephone ran his label, Sandwich Man Records. Daniel James started up his own eponymous band. Bass player Ray Suburbia moved to southern Illinois and founded hardcore/art collective, AUtONOMY.
Chinese Telephones fans are thrilled now that the band is back on the road and this album is back in print. * * *
